Lakehead - Orillia's new Academic Building on University Avenue is the first step in the development of a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)  campus, the first of its kind in Canada. Lakehead Orillia's outstanding accomplishments over the past four years have allowed us to expand into a campus that combines our historic Heritage Place downtown setting with a new kind of facility - one that showcases our leadership in innovation and environmental sustainability.

Downtown

The Lakehead University Orillia Campus opened its doors in September 2006 in the newly renovated Heritage Place located in Downtown Orillia, ON. The nearly 14,000-square foot facility supports a wide range of student services and academic learning environments.
 
As the leader in learning-assisted technology, Lakehead University  features a number of sophisticated Technology Enabled Classrooms, utilizing the latest in state-of-the-art technology to enhance the student learning experience. Traditional classrooms and community learning environments are also available throughout the campus. The library and resource centre  feature a permanent collection and access to a complete collection of online reference resources.
 
In addition to taking advantage of the natural environment in the surrounding Orillia region, students will also learn in our high-tech lab environments featuring the latest in scientific learning technology.
 
As a student-centered learning environment, Lakehead University Orillia Campus features community environments with student lounge areas with wi-fi and internet access terminals for students doing research or just looking to surf the web.
