Computer Labs
At the Heritage Place location there is a twelve computer lab and a twenty-four seat lab at the 500 University Ave location for students to use.   All computers are loaded with office productivity software and course-specific applications. Full access to high-speed internet is included at each computer, which comes equipped with flat screen LCD monitors, a DVD/CD-RW optical drive, USB ports and front-access audio jacks for headphones and microphones. Students are encouraged to use USB flash drives to store data, which are available for purchase from our bookstore.
 
 
Printing
High-speed laser printers are located in each computer lab and are accessible to every student with a valid ID and password. Students can also send colour print jobs from any computer on campus and pick them up in the library. Printing costs are controlled through a print credit system. Students receive an initial $3.00 worth of print credits which can be used for black & white laser prints at 8 cents per page or for colour laser prints at 50 cents per page.  Additional print credits can be purchased at the library.
 

Learning Assistance Lab

Catering to the diverse needs of every individual student we welcome into our campus, Lakehead University strives to accommodate the learning requirements of everyone through the availability of assistive technology devices, specialized computer hardware and software.

The Learning Assistance Centre has labs at both Orillia locations. These spaces provide computers and ample room to study and do research. Every attempt has been made to make available the latest in assistive technology. If you have a particular preference or suggestion on how we can make your learning experience even better, please let us know.

 
 
Library Computers & Laptops
There are twenty additional workstations in the Heritage Place Library for students to use. These computers include the same functionality as the computers in the other labs.
 
In addition, there are several laptops that students can borrow for use in the group study rooms. Special arrangements can also be made to borrow a laptop for class presentations. For more information, ask at the Library.
